Top Movies About Prom

The saying that prom night is the biggest and best night in high school is correct on so many levels. Why else would you find so many movies about prom, and even more high school movies with the prom scene being the biggest?


Whether your prom days are behind you or they’re fast approaching, it is always blissful to think about prom, and even more so to watch the movies. Let’s introduce you to some movies that can get your prom spirit up and keep them high for a long, long time. If you’re prepping for prom, you just might find inspiration for some Sexy Prom Dresses if you pay close attention.

Teen Wolf 
The 1985 Teen Wolf is still a must-watch in 2024 and even beyond, and it’s no surprise at all. Although the name doesn’t scream ‘Prom’, there’s a big high school dance that’s the highlight of the movie, which showcases how prom looked like in the 80s. Of course, the wolf theme makes it all the more interesting as the protagonist makes it to prom in his wolf form. Fun right? 


Back to the Future
The 80s sure cared about prom, because this movie is centered completely around prom. Marty McFly goes back in time to his parent's prom in high school on a self-saving mission to ensure that his parents’ relationship is fixed so he can be born.
Well, this movie is about prom, but about several other things too, because rock and roll was ‘invented’ by Marty along the line. With a unique prom theme centered around under-sea enchantment, you have something unique to look forward to.

Never been Kissed
Now, we make our way to 1999 when an adult journalist goes to hang out with high-school students and experiences a whole new world. The prom theme in this movie is really thick, as it focuses on famous historical couples, Shakespearean characters, Barbie and Ken, and plays some of the good old songs that you’ll probably have in your head for a long time.


The Prom 
Straight from the name you know it’s about to be all prom. This 2020 movie is an adaptation of the hit Broadway musical and tells the story of narcissistic theater stars who visit a small conservative town in Indiana to help a high school girl go to prom with her girlfriend. With a more recent theme, you find more modern prom and fashion inspiration for your prom.

He's All That 
If you saw the 1999 movie titled ‘She’s All That’, then swap the genders and you have the 2021 ‘He’s All That.’ Also a full prom-focused movie, a popular girl in high school, Padgett, makes a bet to make the school’s unpopular kid into the prom king.

What’s Prom without the Dresses?
